Yacht Description
Makayabella is a fast and safe 62 ft sloop with very spacious and luxurious living accommodation for parties of two to eight.
There are two en suite double cabins each with 4' -6" beds and two en suite twin cabins each with 3' x 6'6 ft beds
One of the best aspects of the yacht is a really spacious cockpit with a dining table that seats 10 people without being encumbered by the steering wheel, winches and ropes. A place to relax both during the day whilst sailing and at night, beneath a galaxy of stars, enjoying fine wine and food
Scuba Diving is a great passion of your Captain John Nicholson.
A charter on Makayabella offers you snorkeling, fishing, water skiing or if this sounds too active, perhaps a beach barbecue and an afternoon swinging in a hammock on a deserted beach. The choice is entirely yours. This is your holiday with no set routine.
John & Sue, your professional gourmet chef shall organize as much or as little as you want. A truly individual experience.
Crew
John and Sue (54 and 44 years) welcome you to the Caribbean aboard their beautiful yacht Makayabella.
The combination of John's Yachtmaster and Divemaster experience and Sue's imaginative culinary skills together with their delightful sense of fun and adventure is certain to ensure that your holiday will be one to enjoy and remember.
John was born in Greenwich, England and has sailed for many years progressing from dinghies to yachts before buying his own boat which he sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean in 1991. Here he successfully chartered whilst continuing to explore much of the area including many fascinating and little known uninhabited islands in the Caribbean and Venezuela. Having decided that it was a wonderful place to live and work, John returned to England in order to start up a business which would enable him to buy a larger boat on which to return to the Caribbean and continue chartering. This he has done together with his 2 sons who now carry on running the highly successful cabinet making company. Sue comes from Leicestershire in England and has also led something of an adventure life; after attending catering college she worked in a variety of pubs, hotels and restaurants. She has traveled through Europe, the Middle East and East Africa and lived in North Africa and France before settling in South Africa where she lived for 16 years. Here she found herself preparing meals as diverse as "Zoo Stew" for guests on game farms, and "Marinated Marlin" for a family beach barbecue! It was in South Africa that John met Sue whilst on a shark diving holiday on the south coast of Natal. Since then, together they have prepared and sailed Makayabella from Rhodes in Greece, through the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic to the Caribbean where they look forward to welcoming guests on board to share with them a taste of the tropics
