Villa Description

The completely unique Tranquillity Villa (sleeps max. 8) is a wonderland built over 4 levels to create multiple panoramic views with a private top level master bedroom accessed via a separate gated entrance. Located on the side of hill directly above the ocean at the beautifully secluded and easy to reach Moonhole beach, Tranquillity offers a truly secluded holiday experience. The villa has incredible 300 degree views encompassing dozens of islands dotted in the sparkling Caribbean sea. An architectural spectacular, this one of a kind property is creatively designed and very comfortably appointed yet retains a natural rustic feel. Tranquillity is an ' ideal honey moon destination  ' - private, romantic and breathtaking. The villa also works very well for families offering enough space and levels for children to explore while parents enjoy the penthouse feel of the top level master bedroom.

This Villa has a fantastic location, breathtaking views and is large enough to accommodate 4 couples comfortably. With large open arches and spacious living areas the villa was built without straight lines, rather gentle curves that complement the natural surroundings. Ecologically friendly, electricity and hot water are created from solar energy. Designed to be cooled by the tradewinds.


From the top down we have first the master bedroom. This has a king-size bed that looks out directly onto the ocean and dozens of islands. It has it's own private bathroom, satelite TV, plenty of closet space, a desk area and a huge tiled patio. This upper level is completely private from the main house and accessed by its own stairway the gate for which can be closed off from the rest of the house. The large patio looks down onto Moonhole beach and the pool area. It has a panoramic view from St. Vincent in the North to Union Island in the south (you can see Grenada on a clear day). Complete with hammock and outside table and seating this Master Bedroom level is comfortable and private. The next level down has the kitchen, dining room, library, music room, utility room and a large comfortable lounge area. Again it has it's own tiled patio complete with outdoor seating. The kitchen is fully equipped, although the villa comes with your own private cook & housekeeper so you don't even need to venture into this area on your vacation!! This level leads off to the pool and sun terrace to the side. The next level down features two en suite bedrooms. Each bedroom leads off to yet another large red tiled patio. This patio enjoys the same stunning views of Moonhole beach and the Caribbean Sea with Grenadine islands in the distance. The final level has just one en suite bedroom with a king-sized bed. This room has its own private terrace and balcony overlooking the Caribbean.

Within 20 minutes drive from the house are 5 more white sandy swimming beaches, tennis courts, scuba shops, a hobbie cat sailing school, windsurfing school, deep sea fishing charters, the Bequia turtle sanctuary, colonial relics of forts and cannons, batik boutiques, museums, art galleries, book shops, reggae rum shops, and over 25 restaurants and cafes. Take eco tours to St. Vincent for spectacular tropical waterfalls, rainforest hikes and the oldest botanical gardens in the western hemisphere. Boat tours or sport fishing to other islands, Disney film locations, 32 islands and Cays of the Grenadines to explore, including Mustique, Canouan, Union, Petit St. Vincent, Tobago Cays for excellent reef snorkelling, exotic aquatic and bird species and beautiful yachts plying the ocean

Map: Bequia is the second largest island in the Grenadines, 10 km South of St Vincent and 8 km north of Mustique. Drive from Bequia airport takes 5 minutes to the most southern tip of the island at the unique and famous  ' moon-hole '.
Air: Private Jet to Canouan island just 5 minutes flight from Bequia’s airport. Fly to Barbados and Bequia airport has daily flights from here. Alternative with chartered plane would be Martinique, St Lucia, or Grenada. It is also possible to fly Barbados - St Vincent and then take the ferry.

Well we had the best time ever and loved Bequia everybody was so nice and Lucille was great. Would love to see you at some point Kirsty has offered supper at her flat for you Molly and me and we could have a chat. We think we will want to go back next year for New Year but Moonhole was wonderful but quite a long way from everything so I want a house ideally above Princess Margaret Beach if at all possible and again only four rooms but would love to meet you and just generally discuss. Not sure when you are going so let me know if you have a night in London or not.

Tranquility was absolutely magical! Lusan made us feel truly welcome, Sasha and Hyacinth looked after us brilliantly and Jed the parrot behaved impeccably. As a family we fell in love with the house -- the simplicity, the views, the cooling breeze and the always-deserted Moonhole Beach. Our boys (11 & 8) were in heaven -- swimming, fishing, iguana-hunting and exploring in total safety -- it was a though they were living in a Gerald Durrell novel for 3 weeks.

As for the island -- we totally loved it and, like many I am sure, hope that it manages to preserve its unique combination of unspoilt and friendly comfort. We loved some of the wildness on the East coast, made great friends in the Rasta market and spent most evenings watching the sun go down from Princess Margaret Beach as we sipped rum punches...thank you for everything. You played a major part in giving us a truly unforgettable and extremely special time in our lives.

Hi Lara,
We are now back from the sailing portion of the trip. Now back to work (reality?).
Our experience at the house in Bequia was absolutely fantastic! Doro is an integral part of the entire experience - she really is a treasure. The house and the entire environment at Moon Hole was a great match for our family - we really enjoy the isolation and the privacy.
We hope that the owners continue to rent this property - we would be very interested in returning next year (and that would be our first return visit to any one location in the past 5 years).

Personal cook/housekeeper whose hours are set by the guests on arrival and can be changed at any time. This service is available seven days a week and all meals will be prepared and served. The only thing the guests do is relax and enjoy!

  • House keeper - the house keeper cleans the house and will be on-site 6 days per week. She will change linen, clean the kitchen, sweep and tidy up throughout the day.


The house keeper will prepare you breakfast and lunch if you desire, this service (excluding food) is included in the rental.  If you require a full time professional chef we can make arrangements for you.


Reservations must be accompanied at the time of booking by a 25% deposit. However, a reservation cannot be confirmed until 8 months or 240 days prior to the date of arrival, at which time the 25% deposit becomes non-refundable. The remaining 75% is required 60 days prior to the date of arrival and is immediately non-refundable. Deposits on a villa rental will not be refunded if a visit is delayed or cancelled because of transportation difficulties. Guests are therefore urged to purchase travel insurance. The minimum period for a reservation is five nights. Over certain holiday periods, a further minimum stay may apply.
