The housekeeper & gardener Mr. and Mrs. Forde are very helpful and welcoming Bequians who do their utmost to make your holiday fun and relaxing.
Interior
(Cottage 1) Ground floor: Kitchen, living room opening to large out door dining veranda, which wraps 3/4 of the house for shade at all time of day.
(Cottage 2) Ground Floor: Master bedroom, queen bed, en suite bathroom, private vernada
( Cottage 3) Upper level: Two queen bedrooms each with en suite bedrooms. One bedrooms with a north facing patio the other with a south facing patio. A ocean facing balcony runs across in front of these bedrooms.
Entrance
From the road up a gently sloping drive six steps lead you to a little red gate. To your left is the master bedroom, to the right, the main living area and up ahead is the third cottage homing two double en suite bedrooms.
Main Veranda
The main veranda wraps around the front and side of the main cottage(living/kitchen/dining) on the West side a hammock over looks Friendship Bay. The veranda is partially covered, excellent for moonlit dining or relaxing on sun loungers.
Bedrooms
There are three beautifully appointed double bedrooms each with magnificent ocean views. All bedrooms have Queen size beds, en suite shower bathrooms, luxurious towelling robes, and full length mirrors. They all have bedside & celing fans, window screens and nets.
The Master Bedroom is just a few paces from the main cottage. It enjoys magnificent ocean and garden views and has a wrap around veranda. The East & West Wing Bedrooms are connected by an ocean facing veranda. The both then enjoy magnificent ocean and garden views.
Living Dining
In the main, largest cottage, a few paces from the bedrooms is where one will be whiling away relaxing hours. Look up, the ceiling is high and airy and there are the dark wooden beams - part of the unique West Indian structuring. The stone and white painted walls are adorned with tropical paintings. Here is your cosy sofa, three arm chairs and cable TV ( if you need it.)The dining area takes up the rest of this open space and shares the panoramic views of the sparkeling ocean, sandy beach.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with toaster, blender, coffee perculator, whisk and all manner of crockery and cutlery. A small laundry room next door steps directly out in to the garden. The kitchen is situated behind the dining area enjoying ocean and garden views.
Beach & Garden
Sea Star is at a 100ft elevation from the waters' edge just above the sheltered Friendship Bay, on the South Eastern coast of Bequia. It is on a 1.4 acre plot with wonderful tropical gardens where you can find aloe, hibiscus, frangipani and tropical flowers, The villa is less than 10 minutes walk from the beach. You will find yourselves the only guests on Friendship Beach most days. Friendship bay is a quiet, reef protected and ideal for swimming. Idyllic ocean-island views across to Mustique and the smaller Grenadine islands. At the end of the beach there is a laid back beach bar with swinging bar chairs and a great restaurant.
Friendship Beach faces Mustique and small off shore islands. Moon Hole, another sparkeling white beach great for snorkeling and shell collecting is close by. Lower Bay and Princess Margaret are 10 minutes by car. Moon hole Beach is a 10 min drive. Lower Bay and Princess Margaret Beach are 10 min drive. 5 minute drive to Scrimshaw Gallery. 10 minute drive/ 5 minute walk to Paradise SCUBA school, Port Elizabeth Harbour (shops and markets) is a 7 min driveHill side walking areas above the house offer panoramic views along Bequias coast line.
Restaurants
There is one fantastic restaurant and beach bar with in within easy walking distance along the beach. Over 25 more restaurants are within 10 minutes drive away.
Staff
Your housekeeper works 5 days per week 9 am – 2pm.
A gardener comes Monday to Friday in the morning to look after the gardens for you too.
Arrival and stay details
An open style taxi meets you at Bequia airport and it is a fifteen-minute coastal drive to Sea Star. Transfers are payable locally.
A meal is prepared for your arrival and groceries ordered will have been packed away. The best local foods are Creole fish, jerk chicken, lobster, black eye peas and rice, plantain, breadfruit and salt fish, spiced pumpkin and fruits are abundant. The neighbouring island St. Vincent has very rich and fertile soil. A ferryboat brings fresh produce each day.
At the house you have a husband and wife team, Mr and Mrs Forde visiting 5 days per week. Mrs Forde cleans make the beds, launders linens and washes up for you. Mr. Forde tends the garden. They live close by and will do everything to make your stay relaxing and fun. Grocery shopping and baby sitting services are also available.
Laundry here is done once a week by hand. If you need more than this just mention to the housekeeper who will be able to do personal laundry in house or at a laundry in the haroubr. I suggest you tip US$ 5 per load for laundry in house.
Within 10 minutes drive from the house are tennis courts, scuba shops, a hobie cat sailing school, deep seas fishing charters, reggae rum shops, casual cafes and restaurants. Other fun and interesting islands; Mustique, St. Vincent, Canouan, Union, Tobago Cays. There are waterfalls, Disney film locations, 32 islands and cays of the Grenadines to explore, excellent reef snorkelling, exotic bird species, batik boutiques, animal sanctuaries and in St. Vincent the oldest botanical gardens on the western hemisphere.
