Princess Hill Villa, Bequia
Jenny & Dave Shepherd, London. U.K.

Princess Hill is in the best position for both the active and the quiet, holiday makers.
It is secluded yet only a short walk to 2 other beaches ( Lower Bay and Plantation Beach) and minutes from 3 more beaches, water sports, sailing and tennis facilities plus all the boutiques, restaurants and markets of the island capital Port Elizabeth.

The villa comprises an open living area, two double bedroom rooms with a shared bathroom between them. The two bedrooms are small and comfortable the kitchen modern and well equipped and the location above all is the attraction.
The living kitchen and dining areas are open plan with two sides of the house flanked by pool deck and beach view veranda.

Locally craftsmen have built wonderful gazebo as a watch tower affording spectacular views across the harbour and three beaches. An open style taxi meets you at Bequia airport and it is a ten minute drive to Princess Hill Villa above Princess Margaret beach.

A meal will be prepared for first evening arrival and groceries ordered will be packed away. The house caretaker Vernon Williams ‘ Willie’ has a water taxi boat and is a wonderful host, boat man and craftsman. He and his wife are extremely kind hosts available for you should you need anything during your stay. They live nearby behind the beach. If you would like Mrs. Williams to cook add US$ 30 per day to the rental cost. You can discuss with your Zelma at the beginning of your stay what you feel like she will prepare what you want with your provisions. Otherwise she cooks delicious local food and excellent pastas, barbecues etc. The best local foods are creole fish, jerk chicken, black eye peas and rice, plantain, breadfruit and salt fish, spiced pumpkin and fruits are abundant. The neighbouring island St. Vincent has very rich and fertile soil. A ferry boat brings fresh produce each day.

Your bags will be taken to your rooms while you take refreshing cocktails on the veranda for sunset green flash views.

Beach & Garden
The house is fenced The house is set on 1/4 acre of tropical garden, totally enclosed on the cliff top between Admiralty Bay and Princess Margaret Beach. There are only three homes on Princess Margaret beach so the valley is lush with vegetation. The gardens are lawned and the garden gate takes gives you private access to the beach path. Of course here you are within 10 minutes walk also to Lower Bay with in 10 minutes drive another five beaches. The owners have built a small one bedroom apartment down at the very cliff edge (which is kept locked) however the entire garden is open for your use and the owners do not occupy their apartment when they have guests staying. The gazebo sits high above on a promonatry over looking Port Elizabeth to the north and the two pristine beaches to the south.

Restaurants.
You are within walking distance of over 10 restaurants here. On the north side of the Bay walk down ( 5 minutes) to the Plantation House Hotel Beach bar and restaurant which is open in the Winter months. A few minutes further are Mac’s Pizzaria, The Green Boley, Frangipani, Gingerbread and lots of other lovely bars and restaurants.
