One thing the wifi was intermittent.
Everything else was just fantastic.
We are happy ,Patrik is a treasure
Annette and Lisa
All the bedrooms are done out in cool white's with splashes of colour, with vaulted ceiling, extremely comfy beds, and fabulous bathrooms. Patricia the house keeper was great, she cooked for us, kept the place spotlessly clean and was happy to accommodate your needs.
We would not only recommend this amazing place to family and friends but hope to return to this stunningly beautiful rustic island again soon.
Thanks once again, best wishes David
We prefer the step path to the road for getting to the beach. The steps were initially rather intimidating, not at all like ours, the gradient of which is only half what this one is. But it is a good cardio workout for a senior about to celebrate her 75th next week . Laila, 76, who has an injured knee, used her brace for the climb, & found therapeutic relief in the exercise. Last evening Peter & my brother Mac, who arrived on Monday, walked up to Ivor's house to make the acquaintance of the Lewis-Cappes. I was happy to remain behind & skype friends.
We spend 3 or 4 hours each day on the beach, and are pleased that the winds & undertow have lessened , and the sea bathing is lovely. We are not touring much at all. Nor are we eating out except for a couple of meals. None can compare with Patrick's. For our anniversary dinner last Sat, he did us a four course meal with callalloo soup, bruschetta, curried lobster with salad, and the crowning glory, fondant for dessert, which we had more of for the last 2 dinners. With champagne, if course.
For another meal he surprised us with was a codfish sauté with breadfruit which I 'd not had for decades. Shrimp risotto, or delish Caesar salad for lunch, etc etc we've not had more than 2 dishes more than once. He tailors the meals to our needs perfectly.
Last Wed we were delighted to meet Avril and chat with her & Robin about your villas. We also met Thomas Dehen, who told us about the next phase of Cassava development.. We have also been in touch with the Glasses, friends of Laila's. Kelly & Jankey have homes in La Pompe, a yacht & a private plane. We were given a tour of the Hazells' condos. We were made to feel so much at home on the island.
So as we begin the wind down of this heavenly rest, we will have unique memories of the ambience of Cassava & it's terrific staff.
So thank you , my dear. I hope your business thrives, as you have a lot to offer.
I can see why you love the island so much… We will definitely come back.
The house is so charming. The views from the terraces and from the bedrooms are outstanding. The fresh breeze coming from the sea always refreshed the house. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning and sip a cup of coffee looking directly at sea.
The privacy was complete, such relaxing and beautiful.
Marva, the housekeeper has been marvelous. She cooked for us great dishes: lobsters, barracuda, fresh fish, bread fruits and so many others delicatessen. She has been always ready to help us in our request.
Lusane and her husband, the owners, are a very friendly couple, that were always present in case of need to provide all the help and the assistant we could need.
Bequea is a small great island, with nice beaches, good restaurants and some small shops that can provide you with excellent food from abroad or great fruits and vegetables from the island.
Staying there it has been like staying in paradise for two weeks.
We hope to be able to come back one day!
A final special thanks to Lucille who helped us with all the information we could need and greeted us at the airport with a bottle of fresh water.
All the best for Easter.
Mangwana has been absolutely amazing! We have had a wonderful stay on Bequia and I hope will be back again soon. We will certainly recommend Grenadine Escape to our friends and colleagues -- Lucille has been a terrific help and a pleasure to work with.
A very happy New Year to you -- best regards,
We had a wonderful holiday in Bequia. Windsong was the perfect villa for us. It's hard to make yourself leave the property it's such an oasis. Patricia, the housekeeper, was wonderful and the house is laid out in a way that she could do her laundry and her cleaning and we didn't even know she was there - except for the results afterwards! Waking up with the sunrise coming up over the ocean followed by a morning dip in one fo the two pools and then the fresh island made banana bread was a magical experience. Grendadine Villas did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable, from picking us up at the airport to having a delicious dinner waiting for us when we arrived! You definately need to rent a jeep as the hill up to the house is quite steep. There are two restaurants nearby and one of the nicest beaches on the island at the bottom of the hill. We will be staying here again! 25 years and counting of coming to the island!
We had a wonderful time at Dragonfly and we really loved the island.
First the island... stunning scenery which is unspoiled and dramatically beautiful, even where it has been built upon. Pretty in places, wild in places, and appealingly a little rough around some of the edges so it does not feel like its presenting too much of a 'prepared' surface to visitors. The islanders ( little kids, old ladies, fishermen, young Rasta guys...) seemed to genuinely welcome us when meeting on the road/ beach/ pathway, they were kind , helpful and fun, which made it even more of a pleasure to explore. And there is a lot to explore as the terrain of the island makes it much bigger than it appears at first. Gideon's handover lesson about our 4WD and low ratio gears was very much needed !! The lack of litter anywhere is perhaps a small point but shows people are taking a pride in the place. The places and things we loved would be a very long list. It is a very special place and we hope you lucky islanders can hang onto all that over the years under inevitable pressure from more of us visitors...
Very best wishes,
Cathy, Charles, Joe, Olivia and Cat
Btw the diving here is excellent!
Our experience with you and Lucille at Grenadine Escape was second to none. You both looked after us exceptionally well with no moans or annoyance at the constantly changing spec. Your recommendations and help were utterly invaluable and very much appreciated: from flight panics to lost phones, ensuring a hire car was at the airport to meet us and sorting a driving licence for us.
Our first week at Burke House was truly magical. Not only is the location absolutely stunning but the house really encompasses the true Bequia feel: relaxed, genuine and unique. No, it does not have the hot and cold running comforts some people expect and yes, there are a lot of stairs but we firmly believe that it is the better for it. Besides with views like that (including the loos and showers!), who cares! We are also utterly in love with Marva. The way she looked after us was exceptional: from subtle, surreptitious housekeeping to advice on buying lobster at the fish market, Marva’s help was invaluable. She really was the icing on an already scrumptious cake.
Thank you again for all your amazing help and a wonderful holiday.
We had a great sale trip yesterday and our stay here on Bequia has been really good and relaxing. All 9 of us have really enjoyed our stay at beautiful Villa Helianthus and all other parts of the island that we have visited.
Bequia is truly a wonderful place and we hope to be able to return some day.
Thank you for all your help before and during our stay.
Today its time to go back to reality.
Many many thanks for the best holiday!
I want to personally thank you for everything you have done for us. You delivered on the most amazing and romantic trip that anyone could have asked for on a honeymoon. It was simply perfect!
We really appreciate all the support and planning you helped us with to make this trip a dream come true!
Always take care, be safe and look forward to working with you again soon.
We stayed at PSV as part of a 3-island holiday in the Grenadines arranged through Grenadine Escape (recommended). PSV is a resort island, bigger and certainly hillier than a Maldivian island but with a similar kind of philosophy. The island is lovely, with beautiful beaches and great views over the channel across to Petite Martinique and other islands, especially from the bar/restaurant area. It was pretty windy on one side of the island but easy to find a calm shelter and hammock with lovely sand and clear blue water on the other. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and any queries soon dealt with by Rosanna, the very efficient Guest Relations Manager. We loved the food, and the fairly-new chef, Charlie, is responsible for some really imaginative dinner menus and tasty food. Good wine list too, if a bit pricey when VAT and service charges are added on the final bill.
The bizarre system of leaving messages and flag signals for drinks, picnic lunches etc actually works very well. The distances are a bit far to carry lots of stuff to and from your chosen beach spot all the time, especially if it’s very hot, but there are always buggies around to provide transport.
We love snorkelling and we found the snorkelling around PSV pleasant but not mind-blowing. For a treat, we’d recommend a trip to the Tobago Quays with Jeff on his lovely yacht “Beauty” which is anchored in the channel (along with several other fancy and less fancy boats). He knows the spots where there is beautiful snorkelling, and a turtle experience is pretty much guaranteed. Magical.
PSV has new owners since the tragic death of the previous one. There are plans to upgrade all the rooms later this year when the resort closes for a couple of months. Already, work is under way on a new spa and beach restaurant. We’d say that the upgrades are timely. Many guests, not surprisingly, come from the States and like to return. We’d not been to PSV before but it seemed to us that its future was in good hands.
It’ll be exciting to revisit.
Please thank the owners for their hospitality. It is a pity they have to sell since it is such a wonderful place!
I attach a picture which now adorns a coffee table book of pictures we put together. You may use it if you like.
I chose Lara as our listing broker because her company maintains exceptional contacts between the local bureaucracy and international market. Our experience has been completely positive. We continue to be impressed with the professionalism and service of Grenadine Escape. Grenadine Escape has made serious inroads as to the marketing of Bequia as a destination, their press exposure is excellent and we have our property on the books of top global agencies. We are hopeful of a quick sale. I have no doubt they are acting as one of the top real estate brokers in the West Indies.
As for the island -- we totally loved it and, like many I am sure, hope that it manages to preserve its unique combination of unspoilt and friendly comfort. We loved some of the wildness on the East coast, made great friends in the Rasta market and spent most evenings watching the sun go down from Princess Margaret Beach as we sipped rum punches...thank you for everything. You played a major part in giving us a truly unforgettable and extremely special time in our lives.
Ultramarine was very very beautiful... we have a good time... The villa very nice... - cook super...
We hope to go back the next year on Mustique....Thanks for everything.
