Dear Lara,
Just a quick note to thank you for organising our recent two week trip to the Grenadines. Your suggestion that we stay on the island of Bequia was 'spot on'. What a lovely unspoiled place - and some great restuarants too! Star Dust villa at Friendship Bay, and its wonderful views to the other islands, was ideal for our party of three couples.
In fact, all your arrangements on our behalf - the private air charter to and from Barbados, the taxi to meet us at the landing strip, the villa, the
groceries, the jeep hire and the yacht to the Tobago Cays (though we can't credit you with the unexpected and unseasonable storm!) - worked absolutely perfectly.
We're all agreed that we enjoyed one of our best holidays ever.

We are a newly married couple, having recently returned from the honeymoon of our dreams, thanks in part to Lara from Grenadine Escape. During our engagement, we spent many hours researching a honeymoon spot. Once we narrowed down our search, we came across the Grenadine Escape website and began our year long e-mail correspondence with Lara. She made suggestions on where to go and gave us information on the villas she has available for rent. She always responded promptly to our questions and requests and was very helpful. We ended up renting Palm Lodge on the island of Bequia and had 10 days of paradise. Lara made all the arrangements for our layover in Barbados, our connecting flight to Bequia, and arranged to have our groceries sent over from St. Vincent prior to our arrival (this was cheaper than buying them in Bequia). She even gave us the names of the taxi drivers who met us in Barbados and Bequia. Everything was as described and our villa on Bequia was exactly as pictured on the internet. The managers of Palm Lodge were very professional, friendly, and helpful as well. Bequia was everything we were looking for - peaceful, friendly, personal, and resort-free. We would not hesitate to go through Grenadine Escape again for future Caribbean vacations.

Hello Lara:
We had a wonderful trip to Bequia and would definitely recommend it to friends. We thoroughly enjoyed Windsong Villa. The location was private and the views were spectacular. The house was very well appointed with everything that we needed. The island is lovely with lots to do and the people are friendly and welcoming. The highlight of our trip was the day we spent in the Tobago Cays. The children loved the turltle farm and snorkeling at Lower Bay. Overall a wonderfully relaxed vacation in a beautiful setting.
We really enjoyed our trip and hope to return to Bequia again!! Thank you for your help in planning this vacation.

Hi Lara,
Claire and I returned from 8 wonderful nights (and days) at Tikaye on Saturday night. We both wanted to thank you for this recommendation and tell you how much we enjoyed the resort.
Jeanine was super nice and friendly and obviously treats her staff well as they couldn’t have been more polite and helpful at all times, in all areas. Everything there was just really easy which, as I’m sure you know, is not always the norm in the islands.The room was great with the plunge pool and total privacy; just what we wanted and Jeanine even had a banana tree cut back for me to improve the view.
The meals Paul prepared were wonderful and very creative. We didn’t mind eating in the restaurant every night. They even had live music twice while we there.
We rented a jeep one day and drove around and finally had lunch at Ladera which was a great view but felt a bit stuffy to me. Tikaye just had a homey kind of feeling and I think it is a result of two things; Jeanine and the size of the place. Since everybody is either at a meal together or on the beach or a tour together, you get to know each other quickly and it makes for a lot of fun which we haven’t really seen at other places we have been. |

We stayed at the Anthony Eden Cottage on Friendship Beach in Bequia. Our family loved the place - great beaches, very scenic and safe. Restaurants also great. Locals very friendly. Lots to see on the island as well and in St Vincent (a ferry trip away). Bit of a trek to get to but then it's quite exclusive as a result. You can also do some great sailing there - I didn't skipper myself but we chartered a sailing boat (one skipper and his son as crew) and did a day's return sail to Mustique which was memorable. Only downside was the mosquito population which seemed to be on vacation with us! they can obviously be avoided though, inside and would be the same on any island. The housekeeper at Anthony Eden Cottage is also great and an excellent cook. Local bus stops just outside the house so its easy to get to the local town (and quick) to buy things.

just wanted to thank you for all your help and patience in preparing this
fantastic honeymoon trip we just had.
Both Petit Bacaye and PSV were more than fantastic. Food, service, privacy, sea, beach....were all really nice......pls recommend both places to your clients.....we were also very lucky with the weather, it only rained one day in Grenada and one day at PSV......and overall I couldn't be happier with the outcome.....

Hi Lara,
We are now back from the sailing portion of the trip. Now back to work (reality?).
Our experience at the house in Bequia was absolutely fantastic! Doro is an integral part of the entire experience - she really is a treasure. The house and the entire environment at Moon Hole was a great match for our family - we really enjoy the isolation and the privacy. The house was rustic but with sufficient amenities that nobody "suffered" at all.
We hope that the owners continue to rent this property - we would be very interested in returning next year (and that would be our first return visit to any one location in the past 5 years).
Thanks again for all your help in planning the visit (one recommendation we should have followed was the charter into Bequia as we missed the scheduled flight due to late arrival in Barbabos - no big deal but it did waste a couple of hours). |

We all had a fantastic holiday. I'm so glad we stayed for a month, it was perfect. The villa was great and we were very happy to have a car to use, we checked out every beach on the island. The girls had an amazing time and they loved the Fords. They are such nice people and they made us feel so at home. We really had a wonderful time and I'm sure we will be back soon, we have to goto visit friends in England first but we will be sure to contact you when and if we need to rent a villa again. Thank-you for all your help and I hope we can get back to Bequia very soon.

Lara - We loved everything about our holiday. Marcel and Gladys are indeed a lovely couple and were extremely helpful at all times. Gladys cooking was superb ! Great places we visited such as Bequia and Petit St Vincent and Union Island. We also loved Petit Bacaye - really fell for it and if we return to the Caribbean then that would be high on our list. All in all a first rate holiday so thanks again for all your help. |
