Coccoloba is located on the crest of 12 lush acres at 220 feet of elevation, providing 280 degrees of view overlooking four bays: L’Ansecoy, Rutland, Lime Kiln and Endeavor. The entrance to the villa is situated at a lower elevation, and 900 feet from the villa, and meanders through mature landscaping to assure total privacy. Over 10,000 tropical plants were imported to further protect and enhance your tropical paradise.
After almost five years of construction, Coccoloba completed in November 2009. Materials such as antique teak from Bali, shell stone from Dominica, and antiques sourced from around the world create a feeling of age and permanence. At the same time, the villa uses the latest in technology, such as Wi-Fi throughout the property, iPod-docking stations in all sleeping rooms and a property wide audio system, assuring guests that modern day needs will easily be met and for movie buffs, there is a large video library in the state of the art, purpose-built 12 seat private screening theater with Dolby THX surround sound.
Coccoloba has been built in a series of pavilions, giving it a unique style and a real sense of space and privacy. The airy sitting room stands within the main pavilion surrounded by a wrap around terrace overlooking the swimming pool which is long enough to train in and overlooks uninhabited tiny off shore islands.
The master bedroom exudes romance; its private terrace has a private plunge pool. There are three additional bedrooms, one with its own sitting room, which can be used as another bedroom, perfect for a family or as nanny quarters. The villa also contains a vast screening room with lounge seating and movie library. So close to perfection, Coccoloba is a place guests will never want to leave.
Each en-suite bathroom follows the classic, prestigious style of the house. Each as luxurious and as practical as the other.
Freshwater infinity swimming pool. iPod music station, Flat screen TV that guests can use to play their own DVDs, Pool floats (one seated, two flat). On top of all this, there is a private cinema in the house, perfect for a movie night.
There are two bodies of water surrounding Mustique, the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The main beach is Macaroni Bay. This is the beach that you can see from Jasmine Cottage and has lovely waves and a grass area to picnic in. The other is Lagoon Beach which is on the quieter Caribbean Sea. It is perfect for very small children and again has the perfect picnic area just in front of the lagoon. There is a path from this beach to secluded Geliceaux Bay which you can only reach by foot following the rocky path to the left. There are many other beaches on the island, not all of them suitable for swimming – please look at the map.
Picnics are possible on any of the beaches. The best is Lagoon Beach where there is a barbeque which you can use. Dwayne will be happy to book this and arrange for the staff to get things ready on the beach.
