Grenadine Escape View Point

'I have just returned from the third stay at the Calabash and still couldnt recommend it more highly to Grenadine Escape travellers! For fellow aficiodano's of food and wine this is one to put on your list. What a callaloo tart! The restaurant is incredibly romantic twinkling under the crafted shaded of grapes, hanging orchids and plans which fringe the white sands. It only gets better - the new holistic spa perches guests in pristine cabins over the ocean for hours of heavenly pampering - a great testament to its owners' Lara Cowan, April 2011
'Our love affair with the Calabash Hotel has lasted for many years and is in
part due to the seductiveness of Grenada; the prettiest of all Caribbean
islands, with its warm people, fabulous beaches and lush countryside. However,
much of the appeal of this hotel is due to the fact that it is extremely well
run by its English owner Leo Garbutt and General Manager Clive Barnes, with the
focus on personal attention. Whilst the Calabash is certainly a top class
property, and arguably Grenada's best, the emphasis is on understated elegance
and Caribbean informality, which is quite addictive. The food is outstanding and
the setting of the restaurant at night truly magical.' Lara Cowan, January 2008
