Frequented by Bequia’s most discerning traveller, the Plantation echoes the years gone by when it truly was a 5* hotel, a favorite stop for JP Getty on his yachting holidays, it is still our favourite, still run by Italians with the same the most friendly and gracious staff on the island.
The Plantation Hotel sits on its own beach and is just a walk away from Princess Margaret, one of the Caribbean’s best beaches. Located on the shores of Admiralty Bay, at the far end of what is known as the " Belmont walkway" this is a private location with easy access to restaurants, boutiques, shops and the quaint little town of Port Elizabeth. The resort consists of a beautifully restored colonial plantation house itself and additional 17 cottages all set in 20 acres of beautifully maintained tropical gardens, a swimming pool, the hotel’s own jetty and views over yachts the harbour’
All rooms are furnished and decorated in the simple fresh looking Caribbean style, where color and textures, bamboo and flower prints reflect the local tradition in handicraft. Conversely, they are well equipped with the latest technologies for comfort, such as air-conditioning, ceiling fan, shower, satellite TV, video recorder on request, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and minibar to name a few of the modern amenities that are standard features.
Cabanas “Coconut”:
Seventeen wooden units with twin or double beds celebrating the tipically colorful wooden construction of the colonial era with gingerbread décor and traditional verandahs overlooking twenty acres of a delicately manicured tropical garden.
Cabanas “Suite” :
A) Oceanfront : just footsteps away from the see, 3 inter-connecting twin-bedded rooms, each with a verandah on the oceanfront (2 with twin beds and 1 with "King-Size" bed).
B) View of the ocean : in recently built cottage unit, 2 connecting twin-bedded rooms, each with dressing room and verandah, enjoying a lovely view of the ocean.
“Deluxe” Rooms:
5 rooms on the second floor of the Plantation House itself, two with private verandah and with a view of Admiralty Bay (all with double beds). |
