Located on its own private island of 135 acres in the eastern Caribbean, Palm Island is a quiet paradise where tranquillity reigns. The encircling sea is a great source of activity- from windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling, bicycles, reef and surf fishing and kayaking. Boat trips to the Tobago Cays are scheduled daily and day-long yacht sailing to other islands can be arranged. A freeform pool with a waterfall feature and five pristine beaches create a unique aquatic sanctuary.

The coconut tree houses are perched four feet off the ground on stilts. These romantic “tree houses” feature high ceilings and breezy balconies. Interiors include four-poster bamboo beds and other island furnishings. Located a few yards from the beach, the palm view rooms offer the perfect place to relax in gardens ablaze with tropical colours. A larger Plantation House on two floors is ideal for families. Beachfront rooms feature an additional living area.

The setting is practically perfect, particularly at dawn, when the air is still and fresh. From the patio of your stone cottage, the view gives through to a sandy garden of palms and sea almond trees to a startling aquamarine sea. Lunch on the terrace on the beach or maybe take a boat to the Tobago Cays or Mustique for a privately arranged lobster barbecue. As an All-inclusive resort, guests on Palm Island can enjoy gourmet dining in three different areas of The Grenadines Restaurant, or in the smaller, casual Yacht Club.

Grenadine Escape Viewpoint

“Palm Island has been revamped . I visited the resort most recently in November. The setting as has always been is practically perfect, particularly at dawn, when the air is still and fresh. From the patio of a stone cottage, the view gives through a sandy garden of palms and sea almond trees to a startling aquamarine sea. The beauty of the Grenadine islands can be overwhelming sometimes. Breakfast in a wicker armchair on a thatched hardwood deck, pillars with rope balustrades, with a view across to other Grenadines etched on the horizon then enjoy some action ...Palm Island has a few water sports or you may just want to relax with a book. All the same, most people do take a sailing trip out to the Tobago Cays, a cluster of uninhabited islets set in reefs where tropical fish dip and dart. And on weekend evenings there’s always the jump-up in Union Island, a short boat trip away. This a place with a great atmosphere. The bar, a cavernous construction of breeze-blocks, heaves with energy, in an easy mix of sailors and islanders, whipped up by a local band running through the year’s carnival calypsos from Trinidad. Where Palm Island is small, slow and soporific, you find hustle and bustle acrcoss the waters at Union.”
